Rum might not be a name you recognize, but it’s actually perfectly positioned if you want to experience the real Tyrol without the tourist crowds. You’re close enough to Innsbruck’s old town — maybe 15 minutes by car — but far enough out that you get those mountain views without paying old-city prices. The location works especially well for couples, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about waking up with the Alps right there, plus you’ve got easy access to hiking trails if that’s your thing. The surrounding area offers genuine Alpine experiences that feel worlds away from typical tourist zones.

The Room Experience

My room was comfortable in that no-nonsense Austrian way — clean lines, quality furniture, and a window that actually opened to let in that crisp mountain air. The beds are proper European firm (you’ll either love it or need a few nights to adjust), and the bathroom was spotless. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and blackout curtains that actually work when you want to sleep in. Every element feels thoughtfully designed for genuine comfort.
