Landgasthof “Wilder Mann”

Landgasthof “Wilder Mann” Overview

First Impressions

You know what strikes you first about Landgasthof “Wilder Mann”? It’s that perfect balance between traditional Austrian charm and modern four-star comfort that’s honestly pretty rare to find. The moment you pull up to this family-run inn on Römerstrasse, you can tell this isn’t your typical chain hotel — there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a local secret. The building itself has that classic Tyrolean character, but everything feels well-maintained and thoughtfully updated.

Location & Getting Around

Lans is one of those villages that locals know about but tourists often miss, and that’s actually part of its appeal. You’re positioned perfectly here — close enough to Innsbruck that you can be in the city center in about 15 minutes by car, but far enough away that you wake up to mountain views instead of traffic noise. The free private parking is a genuine blessing if you’re driving (and honestly, having a car here opens up so much of the surrounding Tyrol region). Couples seem to really get this location — I mean, there’s something romantic about staying in an authentic Austrian village while still having easy access to everything Innsbruck offers.

The Rooms

The accommodations strike that sweet spot between cozy and spacious. You’ll find rooms that feel authentically Alpine without being kitschy — think warm wood accents and mountain-inspired decor that actually works. The beds are properly comfortable (which isn’t always a given in traditional guesthouses), and the bathrooms are modern enough that you won’t miss any conveniences. What I really appreciate is how quiet everything is at night — you’re in a residential area of Lans, so there’s none of that city hotel noise that can keep you awake.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast buffet here is the kind that makes you want to linger over your coffee. It’s not just the usual continental spread — you’ll find local specialties alongside the standard offerings, and everything feels fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The dining room has these lovely mountain views that make morning meals feel special, even if you’re just grabbing a quick bite before heading out exploring. I’d recommend taking your time here; it’s one of those breakfasts that sets a good tone for the whole day.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets Landgasthof “Wilder Mann” apart is how it gives you an authentic taste of Austrian village life without sacrificing comfort or convenience. The 8.9 rating from recent guests makes sense when you experience the genuine hospitality and attention to detail firsthand. You’re staying somewhere that feels real — where locals might stop by for dinner, where the staff actually knows the area and can give you proper recommendations. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay, especially if you’re looking to explore the broader Innsbruck region at a more relaxed pace.
