First Impressions

The building sits right on Dorfstraße in Lans, and honestly, the mountain views from the entrance alone made me pause with my luggage still in hand. Lans is this perfect little village that most tourists completely miss, which is exactly why couples love it here so much. You’re technically in Innsbruck’s backyard — maybe fifteen minutes by car — but it feels like you’ve discovered some secret Alpine hideaway. The village has that authentic Tirol character where locals still greet you on morning walks, and there’s this lovely church with bells that chime across the valley. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms feel surprisingly spacious for a mountain hotel. What really got me though were those valley views from the window — you know how some hotels promise mountain vistas and deliver a parking lot? Not here. Every morning I’d open the curtains to see the Inn Valley stretching out below, with the peaks rising on both sides.

They do this fantastic job with local ingredients — I had this venison dish that was honestly better than what I’ve paid twice as much for in Innsbruck’s fancy places. The dining room has these big windows that frame the mountains perfectly, and in the evenings, when they light the candles, it gets quite romantic. No wonder couples rate this place so highly — it’s intimate without being stuffy.
