The Room Experience

The room itself is pretty straightforward — clean, comfortable, and honestly, the view is the real star of the show. If you get one of the rooms facing the street (which you should definitely request), you’ll have that postcard-perfect view of the Golden Roof that most tourists only see from street level. The space isn’t huge, but it’s well-designed and has everything you need. The beds are comfortable enough, and there’s decent storage space for your stuff — which matters when you’re doing some serious Alpine exploring.

Practical Considerations

Being on the fourth floor means you’ll get some exercise going up and down (no elevator, as far as I remember), but that’s pretty typical for these historic buildings in the old town. The trade-off is worth it though — you’re above most of the street noise, and the views more than compensate for the climb. Parking can be tricky in this part of town, so I’d recommend looking into the public garages nearby if you’re driving. The staff is helpful with directions and local tips, which I always appreciate when I’m trying to figure out the best way to get around.
